hello comrades,
I just finished Web 2.0 (I have no idea how !!) with a mixture of feelings. Impressed with what is "available" ... to be utilised but feel a little overwhelmed. My immediate thoughts upon finishing this were :-
1. How long before the printed text is "no longer with us" ? and
2. How do T/L's find? make? time to implement the aspects covered in Web 2.0?
Opinions P L E A S E
thanks,
greg
Hi Greg,
You already know some of my thoughts on this. Call me crazy but I can't see the printed text becoming obsolete anytime soon. In fact I wouldn't be surprised if there's an upsurge in the use of printed material in the future. People still want to enjoy reading and touching a 'real'
book with pages...It's a different 'relationship'. Computers and online text can be quite impersonal.
As to the time issue...where to start? T-Ls need to rethink their job descriptions. Web 2.0 and technology in general are important aspects of our job. If learning about them can be incorporated into our professional learning and research then it should be. Things like this Ning, for example, need to be used as 'serious' tools for learning about web 2.0. This learning needs to become part of our 'normal' work.
