The book is great too! I used it as the main source for an assignment. By the way, we just added wall tiles to a wall in our library and the effect is fantastic. We plan to attach art work for exhibitions.
Part of my T-L course involved 'Designing Spaces for Learning' and I found the writing of Prakash Nair & Randall Fielding particularly useful. (There is a book, I think) I noticed a recent article which might be a starting point of sorts:

A very small independent primary school -- with a very enthusiastic student population.
About Me:
Originally from Canada where I did my teacher training, I'm currently the teacher-in-the-library studying M.Ed at CSU distance. I've been running the library for one year officially, but two really after begging to take over the 'abandoned room full of books' (eeek!)
Don't be modest...list two strengths you bring to the role of teacher-librarian:
Infinite curiosity that I hope rubs off on the students and staff and a personal philosophy that 'there is more than one way to skin a cat'.
Hi Cathy, Thanks for your greeting and invitation! The photo was the best I could find from the school computer. I appreciate you allowing me to connect with Vic TLs. Our job's so isolated isn't it. I've been used to bouncing ideas off my colleagues as a classroom tchr for years.
The boys at my school love Zac Power, Alex Rider, Cherub (all the spy series books) as well as the Maxx Rumble, TooCool and non-fiction on dinosaurs, space and especially Star Wars. The girls love the Go Girl!, fairy books or non-fiction titles on horses, kittens, puppies etc.
I'd be interested as well. I looked at both online but then met a student from CSU just finishing up her placement. We talked at length and she introduced me to the OZTL_NET forum. She was so positive about the course, I was convinced! I've only finished two units/subjects so far -- The Role of the TL and Literature in Education.
Welcome aboard, Cathy. Good on you for taking on the 'room full of books' and making something out of them. I finished my masters (Learning Innovation: Teacher-librarianship) at QUT 2 years ago. I'd be interested in finding out how our courses differ.
