A very busy, teaching Prep to Year 12 library. We have close to 1900 students and open before and after school, as well as lunchtimes, on top of teaching literacy abd information literacy classes at all levels up to and incuding Year 7.
About Me:
I have worked as a senior English teacher - still do - since 1982. I trained as a teacher librarian in 1990 and have since combined the two. In my last two schools I have managed the library and introduced teaching programs which reflect my love of learning and of literature.
Don't be modest...list two strengths you bring to the role of teacher-librarian:
My two greatest strengths would have to be my passion for passing on a love of reading and capacity to work tirelessly to bring others on board to work towards a common goal of help students to 'learn how to learn'.
How large is your library team?
There are five Teacher librarians - some part-time - and all with a classroom teaching component in their allotment. I also have three library technicians - one full-time and two part-time.
